Dr. the Honourable Pierre Chan is a member of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong and elected member of the Medical Council of Hong Kong since 2016.
After graduation from the University of Hong Kong in 2000, he worked in Queen Mary Hospital for 10 years and obtained the specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Then he was promoted to Ruttonjee Hospital as GI team head and Associate Consultant in 2010.
Apart from providing clinical services, he provides training for doctors, including to be program director of GI Endoscopy Multi-disciplinary Simulation Training course and deputy director of Crew Resources Management Classroom Program in HK East Cluster of Hospital Authority.
Dr. Chan has served as medical school class representative since 1996. He served in Hong Kong Public Doctors' Association for more than 10 years and became the president between year 2014 to 2016.
Outside work, he likes football and computer application. He helps building the websites for his own legco office, Hong Kong College of Physicians and patient group. Last but not least, Dr. Chan is a registered soccer player under the Hong Kong Football Association, joining the reserve team competition and Futsal League division one competition.
