  • The 159th case involves a 69-year-old male with underlying illness who developed diarrhea and muscle pain since March 15. He attended the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) on March 16 and was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is now in stable condition. The patient and his wife travelled to London in the United Kingdom, Barcelona in Spain and Paris in France between March 3 and 12. They departed Paris on flight CX260 by Cathay Pacific on March 12 and arrived Hong Kong on March 13. The patient had been staying alone at his office in Harvest Moon House, 337-339 Nathan Road, Yau Ma Tei since returning to Hong Kong. His wife is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The 160th case involves an 18-year-old female who has good past health. She lives in Palm Drive, Redhill Peninsula in the Southern District and studies in Switzerland. She developed cough and sore throat since March 9. She consulted a private practitioner on March 16 and was referred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment and admission. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday and she is now in stable condition. She took flight BA0733 (economy class cabin) by British Airways from Geneva in Switzerland to London in the United Kingdom on March 14 and took flight BA33 (economy class cabin) by British Airways from London to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia arriving Kuala Lumpur on March 15. She then departed Kuala Lumpur on flight MH78 (economy class cabin) by Malaysia Airlines arriving Hong Kong on the same day. The patient's parents, younger brother, elder sister and domestic helper are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The 161st case involves a 37-year-old female flight attendant who has good past health and lives in Block 4, Tuen Mun Town Plaza. She developed fever and sore throat since March 12 and consulted a private practitioner on the same day. She was found to be symptomatic at a clinic on March 16 when obtaining her medical report and was subsequently transferred to the United Christian Hospital. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and she is now in stable condition. Her boyfriend who lives with her is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. The patient worked at the flight CX315 (business class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Madrid in Spain on March 7 and the flight CX320 (business class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Madrid on March 10 and arrived Hong Kong on March 11 respectively.
  • The 162nd case involves a 36-year-old male with underlying illness who lives in Tower 7, the Coronation, Yau Ma Tei. He developed fever and cough since March 12 and consulted a private practitioner on March 13. He attended the A&E Department at QEH on March 14. His deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday and was admitted to QEH for management. He is now in stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. His wife who lives with him is symptomatic and was hospitalised. Investigations revealed that the patient had a meal gathering with friends on March 9. Among his friends, one man who had travelled to Switzerland between February 29 and March 8 had developed fever and cough on March 9. The man had been transferred to hospital for testing.
  • The 163rd case involves a 30-year-old woman who lives in Emerald Garden, 86 Pok Fu Lam Road. She has good past health but developed runny nose on March 11 and increased general malaise on March 15. She attended Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) on March 16 and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday and she is now in a stable condition. The patient departed Hong Kong on February 27, and travelled to Paris and London. She arrived Hong Kong on March 6. Her husband who lives with her has developed symptoms and has been admitted to QMH, while her domestic helper who also lives together is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The 164th case involves a 21-year-old man who has good past health and studies in London. He developed cough on March 10 and was referred to Kwong Wah Hospital by the Port Health Division of the DH upon arrival at the Hong Kong International Airport on March 16. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on March 16. He was transferred to QEH and is now in stable condition. The patient travelled from London to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia by flight BA0033 by British Airways (economy class cabin) on March 15, and then from Kuala Lumpur by flight CX5734 by Cathay Pacific (economy class cabin) arriving Hong Kong on March 16. 
  • The 165th case involves a 24-year-old man who has good past health who worked earlier in Copenhagen, Denmark. He developed mild shortness of breath and diarrhea since March 5 and sore throat since March 16. The patient was referred to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) by the Port Health Division upon arrival at the Hong Kong International Airport on March 16. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday and he is now in stable condition. The patient travelled from Copenhagen to Paris and Barcelona from February 29 to March 10. He returned to Copenhagen on March 10 and departed to Doha, Qatar by flight QR160 by Qatar Airways (economy class cabin) on March 15, and then from Doha by flight QR818 by Qatar Airways (economy class cabin) arriving Hong Kong on March 16. 
  • The 166th case involves a 27-year-old man who has good past health and studies in London. He developed cough on March 10 and was referred to Caritas Medical Centre by the Port Health Division of the CHP upon arrival at the Hong Kong International Airport on March 16. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday. He was transferred to PMH and is now in stable condition. The patient travelled from London by flight BA27 by Cathay Pacific (business class cabin) arriving Hong Kong on March 16. 
  • The 167th case involves a 25-year-old male flight attendant, with good past health, who lives in Choi Wah House, Choi Fai Estate, Ngau Chi Wan. The patient is asymptomatic and attended the East Kowloon General Out-patient Clinic on March 16 as he was informed by his company that there were confirmed cases on a flight he had served. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday. The patient will be admitted to United Christian Hospital for treatment and is now in stable condition. The patient worked at the flight CX812 (business class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Boston on March 5 and stayed at Boston for a few days. He then worked at the flight CX811 (business class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Boston returning to Hong Kong on March 10, during which he served two passengers who later became confirmed patients (the 147th and 148th cases). His parents who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The 168th case involves a 43-year-old man with good past health, who lives alone in Tower 2, the Zenith, 258 Queen's Road East, Wan Chai. The patient developed cough since March 9, and blocked nose and headache since March 14. He attended the Violet Peel General Out-patient Clinic on March 16 and his deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus yesterday. The patient was admitted to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment yesterday and is now in stable condition. He visited Austria from March 4 to 11 and took the flight LX138 (business class cabin) from Zurich in Switzerland by Swiss International Air Lines returning to Hong Kong on March 11. Investigations revealed that while in Austria he met a friend who was later a confirmed case of COVID-19 in Finland.

2020-3-16, 150th to 158th cases:

CHP investigates nine additional cases of COVID-19
  • The 150th case involves a 37-year-old man who has good past health. He developed fever since March 13, and cough and sore throat since March 14. He attended Yau Ma Tei Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic yesterday (March 15) and was transferred to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment and admission. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He was further transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is now in stable condition. The patient travelled from Hong Kong to the Netherlands on February 28 for business trip, and then from Amsterdam by flight CX270 by Cathay Pacific arriving Hong Kong on March 15, and had been staying alone in Hotel ICON in Tsim Sha Tsui East upon arrival. Passengers who travelled on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The 151st case involves a 30-year-old male tourist. He developed cough since March 8 and attended Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday where he was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in stable condition. The patient had travelled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates between February 25 and March 10. He took the flight EK380 by Emirates from Dubai arriving Hong Kong on the same day, and had been staying alone in Whole Sunshine International Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui upon arrival. Passengers who travelled in on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The 152nd case involves a 73-year-old man with good past health, who lives at Tower 1, Oceania Heights, Tuen Mun. He developed headache since March 13, followed by fever and cough since March 14. He attended Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) on March 15 and was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and is now in stable condition. The patient joined a group tour from Hong Kong to Egypt between March 5 and 13. He took the flight MS960 (economy class cabin) by EgyptAir from Cairo in Egypt to Bangkok in Thailand on March 13, and then from Bangkok by the same flight arriving Hong Kong on March 14. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline. His wife who lives with him developed cough on March 13 and was admitted to TMH for treatment on March 15. She was tested preliminarily negative for COVID-19 virus. His domestic helper will be arranged for quarantine.
  • Two of the confirmed cases (the 153rd and 155th cases) today are associated with the 35-year-old male patient of the 143rd case confirmed yesterday. The 153rd case involves a 26-year-old woman who is the girl-friend of the patient of the 143rd case. Both travelled to Hokkaido, Japan between February 26 and March 11, and visited a clinic in Niseko, Hokkaido on March 7. The patient has good past health and lives alone in Pristine Villa, Tai Wai. She developed headache on March 15 and was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment during contact tracing by CHP on the same day. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in a stable condition. The patient took the flight JL2504 (economy class cabin) by The Japan Airlines from Hokkaido to Osaka on March 11 and then departed Osaka on flight CX561 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific arriving Hong Kong on the same night. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The 155th case involves a 58-year-old man who is the driver of the patient of the 143rd case. The patient has good past health and lives in Lung Chu House, Lung Poon Court, Diamond Hill. He had subjective fever on March 15 and was admitted to the North District Hospital for treatment during contact tracing by CHP on the same day. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history. His wife and daughter who live with them are symptomatic and will be admitted to hospital. Two taxi drivers who drove the patient from his home to Wah Ming Estate (around 4 pm) and from Wah Ming Estate to North District Hospital (around 5-6pm) respectively on March 15 are urged to call the CHP hotline. Relevant contact tracing is ongoing.
  • The 154th case involves a 42-year-old woman who has good past health and lives in 8 Hok Ling Street, Ma Tau Kok. She developed malaise on March 11, myalgia since March 12 and cough since March 13. She attended Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in a stable condition. The patient travelled to Britain, Germany and Austria between March 7 and March 14. She travelled to Munich from Austria by car on March 13 and took the flight BA0953 by British Airways to London, then departed London on flight BA0027 by British Airways, arriving Hong Kong on March 14. Passengers who travelled on board the related flights are urged to call the CHP hotline. Her husband and daughter who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The 156th case involves a 59-year-old man who has good past health. He developed fever, cough and sore throat since March 9 and attended Queen Mary Hospital on March 15 where he was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in stable condition. The patient visited Switzerland on January 20 and then travelled to Austria on February 28 before returning to Switzerland on March 6. He took a flight from Switzerland arriving Hong Kong on March 12, and had been staying alone in Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong upon arrival.
  • The remaining two cases are related, involving a 42-year-old woman (the 157th case) and 41-year-old woman (the 158th case). Both with good past health, the two patients live at Block 16, Mayfair By The Sea, Tai Po. The 42-year-old female patient developed cough and shortness of breath since March 15. She attended Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) on the same day and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and is now in stable condition. The 41-year-old female patient who is regarded as a close contact was arranged for testing. Her respiratory sample was also tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she was admitted to PYNEH for treatment. Both patients are in a stable condition.

2020-3-15, 143rd to 149th cases:

CHP investigates seven additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first case involves a 35-year-old man (the 143rd case) who has good past health and lives in Lai Ming House, Wah Ming Estate, Fanling. He developed cough since March 11 and fever since yesterday (March 14). He attended North District Hospital on the same day and was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in a stable condition. The patient travelled to Hokkaido, Japan between February 26 and March 11. He accompanied a friend to visit a clinic in Niseko, Hokkaido on March 7. He took the flight JL2504 (economy class cabin) by The Japan Airlines from Hokkaido to Osaka on March 11 and then departed Osaka on flight CX561 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific arriving Hong Kong on the same night. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline. His travel collateral including his girlfriend and two friends, as well as his parents, younger sister and niece who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The second case involves a 29-year-old man (the 144th case) who has good past health. He developed cough since March 11 and attended Ruttonjee Hospital yesterday where he was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in stable condition. The patient departed Hong Kong on March 5 for Germany and then visited Austria on March 7 and returned to Germany on March 11. He took the flight LH119 (economy class cabin) by Lufthansa from Munich to Frankfurt on March 12, and then from Frankfurt by flight LH796 (business class cabin) arriving Hong Kong on March 13, and had been staying alone in The Harbourview in Wanchai upon arrival. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The third case and the fourth case involve a 37-year-old man (the 145th case) and a 39-year-old man (the 146th case) respectively. The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the patients have travelled to France during the incubation period. They arrived Hong Kong from Paris by the flight CX260 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific on March 13. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The 37-year-old man (the 145th case) has good past health and lives in Pak Sha Wan, Sai Kung. He developed cough since March 10 and subsequently diarrhoea and fever. He attended the Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) yesterday and was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now in a stable condition. His wife, two daughters and domestic helper who live with him are asymptomatic and have been admitted to TKOH for examination.
  • The 39-year-old man (the 146th case) has good past health and lives in Fort Mansion, 25-27 Fort Street, North Point. He developed cough since March 13 and attended Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) yesterday and was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now in a stable condition. His another travel collateral is asymptomatic and was admitted to QMH for examination. His girlfriend who lives with him is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. The taxi driver who drove the patient from Hong Kong Station to his home at around 7.30 – 7.45am on March 13 is urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The fifth and sixth cases involve a couple, a 61-year-old woman (the 147th case) and a 58-year-old man (the 148th case) who both have underlying illnesses. They live in Kellett View Town Houses, 65 Mount Kellett Road. The female patient developed sore throat since March 10 and then fever and cough since March 11. The male patient developed fever and cough with sputum since March 10, mild abdominal discomfort since March 13 and then diarrhoea today. They attended Hong Kong Adventist Hospital –Stubbs Road on March 11, and Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital on March 13 and Ruttonjee Hospital yesterday where they were admitted for treatment. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and are now in stable condition. They visited Toronto between February 15 and March 2, New York between March 2 and 5, then Boston between March 5 and 9. They took the flight CX811 by Cathay Pacific (business class cabin) from Boston arriving Hong Kong on March 10. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.   • The seventh case involves a 32-year-old man (the 149th case) who has good past health and lives in Wah Cheong House in Wah Fu (II) Estate, Pok Fu Lam. He developed fever since March 14 and consulted a private doctor. He attended the Accident and Emergency Department at QMH today. His deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is admitted to QMH for treatment and is now in a stable condition.

2020-3-14, 139th to 142nd cases:

CHP investigates four additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first case involves a 39-year-old woman (the 139th case) who has good past health and lives alone in Cornell Centre in Chai Wan. She developed runny nose and blocked nose since March 12 and attended the Hong Kong Sanitorium and Hospital where she was transferred to Ruttonjee Hospital on March 13. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on March 14 and she is now in a stable condition. The patient had travelled to Dubai, United Arab Emirates between February 26 and 29 and visited Madrid in Spain from February 29 to March 10. She took the flight EK142 (business class cabin) by The Emirates from Madrid to Dubai on March 10 and then departed Dubai on flight EK380 (business class cabin) by The Emirates arriving Hong Kong on March 11. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The second case involves a 59-year-old man (the 140th case) who has underlying illness and lives in Heng Tai House, Fu Heng Estate, Tai Po, which is the same building where the patients (members of Egypt tour group) of the 119th and 124th cases (confirmed on March 10 and 11) live. He developed cough since March 10 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital on March 12 and 13. His deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on March 14. He is now under treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history during the incubation period. His wife and son who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The third case involves a 28-year-old woman (the 141st case) who has good past health and lives alone in 684 Clear Water Bay Road. She developed fever and cough since March 12 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Tseung Kwan O Hospital on the same day. Her deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on March 14. She is now in a stable condition and has been arranged to United Christian Hospital for management. The patient resides in London in the United Kingdom. She returned to Hong Kong from London taking flight BA31 (business class cabin) by British Airways on March 11. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The fourth case involves a 59-year-old man (the 142nd case) who is the brother-in-law of the 54-year-old female patient of the 137th case confirmed on March 13. The patient with underlying illness lives in Tivoli Garden, Tsing King Road, Tsing Yi. He developed diarrhoea since March 2, shortness of breath and sore throat since March 10 and fever since March 12. He was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment during contact tracing by CHP on March 13. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on March 14 and he is now in stable condition. The patient had travelled to Morocco between February 27 and March 8. On March 8, he took the flight HV5760 (economy class cabin) by Transavia with the patient of the 137th case from Morocco to Amsterdam in the Netherlands and then departed Amsterdam on flight KL887 (premium economy class cabin) by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 9. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline. The patient's daughter-in-law, grandson and domestic helper who live with him are asymptomatic and have been arranged for quarantine.

2020-3-13, 133rd to 138th cases:

CHP investigates six additional cases of COVID-19
  • Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with the 130th and 131st cases confirmed on March 11 and yesterday (March 12) respectively. The cases involve a 16-month-old boy (the 133rd case) and a 66-year-old male patient (the 138th case). The baby boy is the son of the patients of the 130th and 131st cases while the male patient is the father of the 130th case. Both patients have good past health. The baby boy arrived in Hong Kong with his parents from England on February 29. He stayed at his maternal grandparents' flat at iPlace on Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung. He developed runny nose yesterday and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) for treatment during contact tracing by CHP. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. The 66-year-old male patient had no recent travel history and is asymptomatic. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and has been arranged for management at PMH. Both patients are in stable condition. The male patient's wife is asymptomatic and is arranged quarantine.
  • The third case involves a 67-year-old man (the 134th case) who has good past health and lives at Ng TongTsai, Lam Tsuen, Tai Po. He developed fever and cough since March 10 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Ruttonjee Hospital on March 11. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had travel history during the incubation period and had been to London between February 27 and March 8. His wife who lives with him has developed sore throat and was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment. The patient departed London on flight CX250 (First class cabin) by Cathay Pacific arriving Hong Kong on March 8. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The fourth case involves a 30-year-old woman (the 135th case) with good past health, who lives alone in View Villa, Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan. She developed fever since March 8 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Ruttonjee Hospital on the same day. Her deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and has been arranged for management at Queen Mary Hospital. She is now in stable condition. The patient had recent travel history and had been to Greece between February 10 and 26. She then travelled from Athens, Greece to London, the United Kingdom on February 26 and then from London to Paris, France on February 27. She stayed in Paris until March 4 when she took the flight from Paris to Istanbul in Turkey for transit and then returned Hong Kong on March 5.
  • The fifth case involves a 61-year-old man (the 136th case) with good past health who lives alone in 18 Stanley Main Street, Southern. He developed cough and sore throat since March 7. He sent his sputum specimen for testing on COVID-19 virus through his family physician yesterday. His sputum specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was admitted for management at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH). He is now in stable condition. The patient had travel history during the incubation period. He had been to Colorado in the United States of America between February 27 and March 9. He returned to Hong Kong from Colorado via Tokyo in Japan by flight NH811 by All Nippon Airways on March 10.
  • The sixth case involves a 54-year-old woman (the 137th case) with good past health, who lives alone in Tai Hang Terrace, Chun Fai Road, Tai Hang. She developed cough since March 6 and attended the Sai Ying Pun Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic on March 12. Her deep throat saliva sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was admitted for management at PYNEH. She is now in stable condition. The patient had travelled to France and Morocco between February 13 and March 8. On March 8, she took the flight HV5760 (economy class cabin) by Transavia from Morocco to Amsterdam in Holland and then departed Amsterdam on flight KL887 (premium economy class cabin) by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 9. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the two flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

2020-3-12, 131st to 132nd cases:

CHP investigates two additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first case involves a 37-year-old man (the 131st case) who is the husband of the 31-year-old female patient of the 130th case confirmed yesterday (March 11). The patient with good past health arrived in Hong Kong with his wife and son from England on February 29. He stayed at his parents-in-law's flat at iPlace on Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung. He developed fever since March 3 and was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) for treatment during contact tracing by CHP yesterday. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and he is now in stable condition. The patient’s son has developed runny nose and was sent to PMH for treatment. His parents-in-law are asymptomatic and have been arranged for quarantine.
  • The second case involves a 31-year-old man (the 132nd case). The patient with underlying illness lives at Serene Court, Sai Ning Street, Kennedy Town. He developed fever, myalgia and diarrhea since March 8. He attended a clinic at an institution yesterday and then attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Queen Mary Hospital. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and has been arranged for management at Tuen Mun Hospital. He is now in stable condition. The patient had travel history during the incubation period. He had been to Boston in the United States of America between February 22 and March 1. He then travelled from Boston to Manila in the Philippines via Tokyo in Japan arriving Manila on March 2. He returned to Hong Kong from Manila by flight CX930 by Cathay Pacific on March 8. His wife who lives with him is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

2020-3-11, 122nd to 130th cases:

CHP investigates nine additional cases of COVID-19
  • Six of today’s confirmed cases (the 123rd, 124th, 125th, 126th, 127th and 129th cases) are related to the cluster involving a group tour from Hong Kong to Egypt announced yesterday (March 10). The patients are members and the tour guide of the same tour group of the three patients in the 119th, 120th and 121st cases.
  • Patients of the 123rd and the 129th cases are a couple, who are respectively a 57-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, living in Tower 7, Bellagio in Sham Tseng and joining the same group tour to Egypt. The male patient is a staff member of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. With underlying illnesses, he developed fever and cough since March 8 and sought medical advice at St John Hospital yesterday and was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment on the same day. The female patient has good past health. She developed throat discomfort and malaise since March 8. She was sent to Yan Chai Hospital during contact tracing by CHP yesterday and was transferred to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) for treatment today. The patients’ respiratory samples were both tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and they are in a stable condition.
  • The 124th case involves a 59-year-old woman who is the wife of the patient of the 119th case confirmed yesterday and a member of the same group tour. The patient has good past health and lives in Heng Tai House, Fu Heng Estate in Tai Po. She developed cough and runny nose since March 6, and was admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment during contact tracing by CHP yesterday. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is in stable condition. Her son who lives with her is asymptomatic and under quarantine.
  • The 125th case involves a 23-year-old man who is the Hong Kong tour guide of the Egypt group tour. The patient has good past health and lives in Block T, Telford Gardens in Kowloon Bay. The patient was found to have developed fever before sending to the quarantine centre yesterday and hence sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment. His respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is in a stable condition. His parents who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The patients of the 126th and 127th cases are a couple who are a 63-year-old man and a 63-year-old woman living in Block 26, Laguna City, Kwun Tong and joining the same group tour. Both with good past health, the patients were found to have developed fever before sending to the quarantine centre yesterday and hence sent to the United Christian Hospital for treatment. They are in a stable condition and their respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. Their daughter who lives with them is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The group tour took the flight TK695 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines from Cairo in Egypt to Istanbul in Turkey on March 6 and then departed Istanbul on flight TK70 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 7. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The remaining three cases are the 122nd, 128th and 130th cases. The patient of the 122nd case is a 22-year-old female flight attendant who is a close contact of a 19-year-old female patient confirmed in Dongguan, Guangdong. The patient has good past health who lives in Mau Lam House, Kwong Lam Court, Sha Tin. She developed runny nose since March 6 and chills on March 9. When arranging quarantine yesterday, the patient was found to have fever and immediately sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient lives with her parents, who are both asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The patient visited Amsterdam in the Netherlands from February 21 to 24. She departed Hong Kong for Madrid, Spain on March 3 and then worked at the flight CX320 (economy class cabin) by Cathay Pacific from Madrid back to Hong Kong arriving on March 8. People who travelled on the same cabin of the above-mentioned flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The 128th case involves a 36-year-old woman who is the daughter of the 69-year-old male patient of the 58th case confirmed on February 17. The patient has good past health and lives in Yee Ching House, Yee Ming Estate, Tseung Kwan O. She had been sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact on February 17 and is under medical surveillance after completing quarantine on March 1. She developed diarrhoea since March 8 and runny nose since March 9. She attended Caritas Medical Centre on March 10 and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history.
  • The 130th case involves a 31-year-old woman with good past health who arrived at Hong Kong from England on February 29. She stayed at her parents’ flat at iPlace on Castle Peak Road in Kwai Chung. She developed fever since March 3 and sought treatment at PMH yesterday where she was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and she is now in stable condition. The patient travelled to Hong Kong with her husband and son. Her husband has developed fever and was arranged to be sent to PMH for treatment. Her son and parents are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.

2020-3-10, 117th to 121st cases:

CHP investigates five additional cases of COVID-19
  • Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with a confirmed case in Canada earlier, being the case's household contacts in Hong Kong. The confirmed case in Canada was a member of the same tour group to India as the five patients of the 105th, 107th, 110th, 111th and 115th cases in Hong Kong.
  • The first case involves a 52-year-old woman (the 117th case) who is the daughter of the confirmed case in Canada. She has good past health and lives in Block 28, Lower Baguio Villa, 550 Victoria Road, Southern District. The other case involves a 48-year-old woman (the 118th case) who is the domestic helper of the 117th case who live together. The 48-year-old female patient has underlying illness. When arranging quarantine for the two patients yesterday (March 9), they were found to have fever and immediately sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment. The domestic helper reported to have developed cough with sputum and runny nose since March 4. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and they are now in stable condition. Both patients had no recent travel history.
  • The remaining three cases are related to members of a group tour from Hong Kong to Egypt from February 27 to March 7. One of the patients is a 59-year-old man (the 119th case) who is a staff member of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. The patient has good past health and lives in Heng Tai House, Fu Heng Estate in Tai Po. He developed cough on March 7, then fever on March 8 and sought treatment at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH). He also consulted a private doctor on March 9. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He was hospitalised for treatment at AHNH and is in stable condition. His wife who also joined the tour has developed symptoms and was admitted to AHNH for treatment while his son is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The other two patients are a couple who live in On Hei House in Siu Hei Court, Tuen Mun. The 59-year-old man (the 120th case) with underlying illness developed runny nose since March 7 and fever since March 8 while his 59-year-old wife (the 121st case) with good past health developed fever since March 7. They sought treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) on March 9. Their deep throat saliva specimens were tested positive for COVID-19 today. They are under treatment at TMH and are in a stable condition.
  • The three patients from the same group tour took the flight TK695 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines from Cairo in Egypt to Istanbul in Turkey on March 6 and then departed Istanbul on flight TK70 (economy class cabin) by Turkish Airlines arriving Hong Kong on March 7. Passengers who travelled in the same cabin on board the flights are urged to call the CHP hotline.

2020-3-9, 116th case:

CHP investigates additional case of COVID-19
  • The case involves a 44-year-old man (the 116th case) who is the driver of the 56-year-old male patient of the 106th case confirmed on March 6. The patient has good past health and normally lives at his employer's home at Block A, Po Shan Mansion on 14 -16 Po Shan Road, Mid-levels. He moved to 341 Des Voeux Road West, Kennedy Town on his own on March 5 and was sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact on the following day. He developed a cough since March 7 and has had a fever since yesterday (March 8). His respiratory specimen tested positive for the COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Ruttonjee Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history.
  • Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to the India tour group. One of the patients is a 76-year-old man (the 111th case) who is a member of the same tour group to India as the three patients of the 105th, 107th and 110th cases confirmed on March 4, 6 and 7 respectively. The patient visited India from January 31 to February 24. With long term illnesses, the patient lives in Block 31, Lower Baguio Villa, 550 Victoria Road, Southern District. He developed diarrhoea since February 23 and was identified and sent to Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) by the CHP during contact tracing on March 5. His respiratory samples were tested negative for COVID-19 virus and was transferred to Chun Yeung Estate quarantine centre. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus last night (March 7) and was admitted to QMH for management. 
  • Another patient is a 59-year-old woman (the 115th case) who joined the same tour to India from January 31 to February 24. The patient, with long term illness, lives in Block 1, La Grove, 83 Shap Pat Heung Road, Yuen Long. She was asymptomatic and sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact yesterday. Her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was arranged to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for management. 
  • The third case involves a 55-year-old man (the 112th case) who is the husband of the 83rd case who had visited the Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She and the father of the 84th case confirmed on February 25. The patient has good past health and lives in Hong Fook Court, Bedford Gardens in North Point. He has all along been asymptomatic and earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. His respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history and had not visited Fook Wai Ching She.
  • The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 112th case together with the patients of the 64th, 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th, 77th, 83rd, 84th, 86th, 89th, 91st, 92nd, 93rd, 95th, 98th, 102nd and 103rd cases announced earlier (19 patients in total) had either visited Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in North Point in January or February or had association with confirmed cases who had been to the temple. People who had visited the temple on January 25 onwards are again urged to call the CHP hotline and those who developed relevant symptoms will be arranged to hospitals for treatment.
  • The fourth case involves a 47-year-old woman (the 113th case) who is a domestic helper of the 85th case confirmed on February 25 and is a close contact of the 90th case confirmed on February 26. The patient has good past health and lives at Block 4, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She has all along been asymptomatic and was earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. 
  • The fifth case involves a 41-year-old man (the 114th case) who has good past health and lives at Envoy Garden, 108 Blue Pool Road, Happy Valley. He developed sore throat, headache, runny nose and malaise since March 6 and attended the Accident and Emergency Department at Ruttonjee Hospital on the same day. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had travel history during the incubation period. He took the flight CX542 by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Tokyo on February 19 and then CX505 by Cathay Pacific from Tokyo for transit in Hong Kong on February 21. He travelled with three daughters taking the flight CX225 by Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to Glasgow via London on February 22 and then CX250 by Cathay Pacific from Glasgow for transit in London on February 28 and arriving Hong Kong on February 29. 

2020-3-7, 109th to 110th cases:

CHP investigates two additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first confirmed case involves a 38-year-old woman (the 109th case) who returned to Hong Kong from Wuhan by the fourth chartered flight arranged by the Government. The patient with good past health lives in Shenzhen. She has all along been asymptomatic and was immediately arranged for quarantine at Chun Yeung Estate upon arrival at Hong Kong on March 5. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for isolation and treatment and is now in a stable condition. The patient travelled alone to Wuhan in Hubei Province on High-Speed Rail in mid-January to visit her relatives and reported to have stayed in her mother’s home in Jianghan district in Wuhan without going out.
  • The other confirmed case involves a 73-year-old woman (the 110th case) who is a member of the same tour group as the two patients of the 105th and 107th cases confirmed on March 4 and 6 respectively. The patient travelled with her husband to India from February 4 to 19. She has good past health and lives in Block 1, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She has all along been asymptomatic. She attended Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital yesterday and her respiratory sample was tested preliminary positive for COVID-19 virus. She was sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment on the same day and is in a stable condition.

2020-3-5, 106th to 108th cases:

CHP investigates three additional cases of COVID-19
  • One of the confirmed cases involves a 56-year-old man (the 106th case). The patient, with long term illness, lives in Block A, Po Shan Mansion on 14 -16 Po Shan Road, Mid-levels. He developed fever, headache and myalgia since March 4. He attended Canossa Hospital yesterday (March 5) and then attended Ruttonjee Hospital where he was admitted for treatment. The patient travelled to the United States and Mexico from February 2 to 20 and to London and Paris from February 25 to March 3. His wife developed fever since March 2 and is now admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment. Her respiratory sample tested negative for COVID-19 virus. 
  • The other two cases are related to the 105th case confirmed on March 4. One of the cases involves an 84-year-old man (the 107th case) who joined the same tour to India from January 31 to February 24 with the 69-year-old female patient of the 105th case. The patient has good past health and lives in Scenic Villas, Southern District. He developed cough with sputum since February 28 and attended the University Health Service, the University of Hong Kong on February 29. He was identified and sent to Queen Mary Hospital for treatment by the CHP during contact tracing yesterday. The patient took the flight CX694 by Cathay Pacific from New Delhi, India to Hong Kong and arrived on February 24. Passengers on board the same flight are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The other case involves a 69 year-old man (the 108th case) who is the husband of the patient of the 105th case. The patient, with underlying illnesses, lives in Landwood Court, Villa Lotto, Happy Valley. He did not travel to India and had no recent travel history. He was asymptomatic and sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact yesterday. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was arranged to Queen Mary Hospital for management. He is now in a stable condition. The domestic helper who lives with him is asymptomatic and quarantined.

2020-3-4, 102nd to 105th cases:

CHP investigates four additional cases of COVID-19
  • Two of the confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. One of the patients is a 43-year-old man (the 102nd case) with good past health. He is the person-in-charge of Fook Wai Ching She and lives there alone. He was asymptomatic all along and earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. He is now under treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient did not have recent travel history but had visited Emeishan City in Sichuan Province from January 17 to 20.
  • The other case involves a 57-year-old female (the 103rd case) who is the domestic helper of the patients of the 76th (who had visited Fook Wai Ching She) and 91st cases confirmed respectively on February 24 and 26. The patient has good past health and lives in Phase 1 of Redhill Peninsula in Tai Tam. She was asymptomatic and was earlier sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Queen Mary Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history and had not visit Fook Wai Ching She. Her close contacts (except the two confirmed patients), namely her employer and employer’s son have earlier been arranged for quarantine.
  • The third case involves a 62-year-old female patient (the 104th case) who is the wife of the 63-year-old male patient (the 101st case) confirmed on March 2. The patient, with good past heath, lives at 8 Tai Hang Road. She is asymptomatic and has earlier been sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact of case 85. Her respiratory specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She is now under treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and is in a stable condition. The patient had no recent travel history. She attended her daughter's wedding banquet on February 22 where her husband (the 101st case) and sister-in-law (the 85th case) were also present.
  • The fourth case is an imported case which involves a 69-year-old female patient (the 105th case) with underlying illness who lives in Landwood Court, Villa Lotto, Happy Valley. The patient had visited India from January 31 to February 24. She developed diarrhoea since February 23 while in India. After returning to Hong Kong, she developed fever since February 28 and consulted a Chinese medical practitioner twice. She attended the Violet Peel General Out-patient Clinic on March 3. Her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today. She was arranged to be admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital by the CHP. She is now in a stable condition. Her husband and domestic helper who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. The patient took the flight CX694 by Cathay Pacific from New Delhi, India to Hong Kong and arrived on February 24.

2020-3-2, 101st case:

CHP investigates additional case of COVID-19
  • The confirmed case today involves a 63-year-old male patient (the 101st case) who is the elder brother of the 60-year-old female patient of the 85th case confirmed on February 25. The patient, with underlying illness, lives at 8 Tai Hang Road. He is asymptomatic and has earlier been sent to the quarantine centre as a close contact. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus. He will be sent to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for treatment and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period.

2020-3-1, 96th to 100th cases:

CHP investigates three additional cases and two probable cases of COVID-19
  • The two probable cases involve two passengers of Diamond Princess cruise, namely a 68-year-old woman (the 96th case) with underlying illness and a 56-year-old man (the 97th case) with good past health. The two patients stayed on the cruise from January 25 to February 21, and returned to Hong Kong by the second chartered flight arranged by the Hong Kong Government on February 22. Their blood samples were tested positive for COVID-19 antibody, hence they were transferred from Chun Yeung Estate quarantine camp to the Queen Mary Hospital for further management. They are now in a stable condition.
  • One of the confirmed cases is associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. The patient is a 71-year-old woman (the 98th case) with underlying illnesses who lives in Hong Shui Court, Lam Tin. She developed cough and runny nose since February 12 and consulted a Chinese medical practitioner on February 14, 25 and 26. She called the CHP hotline on February 29 and was arranged to be taken to United Christian Hospital for treatment.
  • The other two confirmed cases involve a couple who are a 76-year-old woman (the 99th case) and a 79-year-old man (the 100th case) with underlying illnesses. They live in Un Lok House, Un Chau Estate, Sham Shui Po. The female patient developed fever, shortness of breath, cough and abdominal pain since February 28. She sought medical attention at Caritas Medical Centre where she was admitted for treatment on the same day. The male patient developed fever and cough since February 28. He sought medical attention at Caritas Medical Centre on February 29 and was admitted for treatment. 

2020-2-29, 95th case:

CHP investigates additional case of COVID-19
  • The confirmed case is associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. It involves a 46-year-old woman (the 95th case) who is the daughter-in-law of a 70-year-old female patient of the 92nd case confirmed on February 27. The patient with good past health lives in Block 4, Bauhinia Garden, Tseung Kwan O. As a close contact of a confirmed case, she had been transferred to Heritage Lodge of the Jao Tsung-I Academy quarantine centre since February 27. She developed sore throat today and her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and was admitted to United Christian Hospital for treatment. She is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period and did not visit Fook Wai Ching She.

2020-2-28, 94th case:

  • The confirmed case today involves a 61-year-old female passenger of Diamond Princess cruise (the 94th case). The patient, with underlying illnesses, stayed on the cruise from January 25 to February 19 and returned to Hong Kong by a chartered flight arranged by the Hong Kong Government on February 20. Her respiratory specimen showed preliminary positive results for COVID-19 virus on February 27 and she was transferred from Chun Yeung Estate quarantine camp to Queen Mary Hospital. 

2020-2-27, 92nd to 93rd case:

CHP investigates two additional cases of COVID-19
  • Both confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. The first case involves a 70-year-old woman (the 92nd case) with underlying illnesses who lives in Block 4, Bauhinia Garden, Tseung Kwan O. She developed cough with sputum since February 13 and consulted the same private doctor on the same day and February 23. She called the CHP hotline yesterday (February 26) and was arranged to be admitted to United Christian Hospital (UCH) for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period but she visited Fook Wai Ching She on January 24 and 25, as well as daily visits during February 1 and 8. Her son who lives with her and presented with symptoms was transferred to UCH for treatment while her daughter-in-law and grandson are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The second case was detected via the "Enhanced Laboratory Surveillance Programme" which covers patients attending the General Out-patient Clinics as well as Accident and Emergency Departments. It involves an 89-year-old woman (the 93rd case) with underlying illness who lives alone in Hung Fuk Building, 40-78 Kam Ping Street, North Point. She developed occasional cough since February 25. She sought medical attention at Anne Black General Out-patient Clinic yesterday. Her deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus today and was arranged to be admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. She is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period but she visited Fook Wai Ching She on January 25 and several times between February 1 and 12.
  • The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 92nd and 93rd cases together with the patients of the 64th, 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th, 77th, 83rd, 84th, 86th, 89th and 91st cases announced earlier (14 patients in total) had all visited Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in January or February or had association with confirmed cases who had been to the temple. The CHP urged people who had visited the temple on January 25 onwards to call the CHP hotline and those who developed relevant symptoms will be arranged to hospitals for treatment. The CHP will issue a letter to private practitioners today to remind them on the latest situation.

2020-2-26, 86th to 91st case:

CHP investigates six additional cases of COVID-19
  • Three of the confirmed cases today are associated with the cluster related to a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She. One of the patients involves a 49-year-old woman (the 86th case) with good past health who lives in Block B, Healthy Gardens, 560 King's Road, North Point. She developed cough with sputum and sore throat since February 18. She called the CHP hotline and was arranged to be taken to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) by ambulance on February 22. She was admitted to the hospital for treatment on February 23. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Her husband and son who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • Another patient is an 80-year-old male (the 89th case) who is the husband of the 74th case confirmed on February 23. The patient has underlying illness who lives in Maylun Apartments, 1-25 Shu Kuk Street, North Point. The patient developed fever and cough yesterday (February 25) and was admitted to PYNEH for treatment on the same day. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period and did not visit Fook Wai Ching She. His daughter who lives with him and presented with symptoms was transferred to PYNEH for treatment while his grand-daughter and domestic helper are asymptomatic and have been arranged for quarantine.
  • The third case involves a 26-year-old male (the 91st case) who is the son of the 76th case confirmed on February 24. The patient has good past health who lives in Phase 1 of Redhill Peninsula in Tai Tam. He developed fever and cough since February 20 and sought medical advice at the Outpatient Department at the Hong Kong Sanitorium and Hospital on February 21. He attended Ruttonjee Hospital (RH) and was admitted for treatment on February 24. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period and did not visit Fook Wai Ching She. His father, second brother and domestic helper who live with him are all asymptomatic and have been arranged for quarantine.
  • The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 86th, 89th and 91st cases together with the patients of the 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th, 77th and 83rd cases announced earlier (10 patients in total) had all visited Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in January or February or had association with confirmed cases who had been to the temple. Those who also had visited the temple during the above period and developed relevant symptoms later, are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The other two confirmed cases involve two passengers of Diamond Princess cruise, namely a 21-year-old woman (the 87th case) and her 16-year-old brother (the 88th case). Both with good past health, the two patients stayed on the cruise from January 25 to February 22, and returned to Hong Kong by a chartered flight arranged by the Hong Kong Government on February 23. Their samples were preliminary tested positive for COVID-19 virus, hence they were transferred from Chun Yeung Estate Quarantine camp to Queen Mary Hospital for further treatment yesterday. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for COVID-19 virus by further testing today. They are now in a stable condition. The patient of the 87th case had fever on February 12 while the patient of the 88th case had on and off runny nose since February 17. Regarding other relatives who travelled with them on the cruise, their parents and maternal grandfather were confirmed cases diagnosed in Japan and are currently staying in Japan for treatment, while their younger sister has no symptoms and is currently under quarantine in Chun Yeung Estate Quarantine camp.
  • The sixth case involves a 29-year-old female (the 90th case) who is the domestic helper of the 85th case confirmed yesterday. The patient has good past health who lives at Block 4, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She developed fever on February 16 and consulted the same private doctor on February 20 and 24. She was arranged to be admitted to RH by the CHP yesterday. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Her employer's husband and son, as well as another domestic helper are all asymptomatic and have been arranged for quarantine.

2020-2-25, 82nd to 85th case:

  • The first confirmed case today involves a 33-year-old man (the 82nd case) who is the son of the 72nd case confirmed on February 23. The patient with good past health lives in Choi Tin House, Hing Tin Estate in Lam Tin. He developed fever on February 20 and consulted a private doctor on February 22 and then developed cough on February 24. He was transferred to United Christian Hospital (UCH) and admitted for treatment on February 24 following the CHP’s epidemiological investigations. He had no travel history during the incubation period. His mother who lives with him is asymptomatic and is currently under quarantine.
  • The second and third cases involves a 55-year-old mother (the 83rd case) and her 24-year-old son (the 84th case). Both have good past health and live in Hong Fook Court, Bedford Gardens in North Point. The female patient developed cough since February 17. She sought medical advice at Ruttonjee Hospital and was admitted for treatment on February 24. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. She is the younger sister of the patient of the 76th case confirmed yesterday and had visited a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments where she met with the patient of the 76th case in February. Her son who lives with her is asymptomatic and did not visit Fook Wai Ching She. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Other family members living with the two patients, including the female patient’s husband, daughter and mother-in-law are all asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 83rd cases announced today together with the patients of the 65th, 70th, 73rd, 74th, 76th and 77th cases announced earlier (7 patients in total) had all visited Fook Wai Ching She in January or February. Those who also had visited the temple during the above period and developed relevant symptoms later, are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The fourth case today involves a 60-year-old woman (the 85th case). The patient with good past health lives at Block 4, Swiss Towers at 113 Tai Hang Road, Tai Hang. She developed cough on February 12 and consulted a private doctor for several times. She was admitted to Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital on February 24 and transferred to Queen Mary Hospital for isolation and treatment today. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and she is now in a stable condition. She had no travel history during the incubation period. She lives with her husband, son and two helpers. Investigation is ongoing.

2020-2-24, 75th to 81st case:

CHP investigates seven additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first case was detected via the "Enhanced Laboratory Surveillance Programme" which was expanded from February 19 to cover the patients attending the General Out-patient Clinics as well as Accident and Emergency Departments, involving a 35-year-old man (the 75th case) with good past health who lives in Block 3, Grand YOHO, Yuen Long. He developed fever and cough since February 19. He sought medical attention at the Accident and Emergency Department at Pok Oi Hospital (POH) on February 21. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus on February 22 and was arranged and admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) for treatment. He is now in a stable condition. The patient had been to his home in Futian, Shenzhen between February 3 and 7. His home contacts include wife, daughter and his sister-in-law from Shenzhen. His wife who presented with symptoms was transferred to TMH for isolation and treatment while his daughter and sister-in-law are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. Taxi drivers who drove the patient from his home to POH at around 7pm on February 21 and from POH to his home at around 9pm on the same night are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The second case involves a 57-year-old woman (the 76th case) who lives in Phase 1 of Redhill Peninsula in Tai Tam with good past health. She developed sore throat since February 8 and fever on February 10. She sought medical advice at the Outpatient Department (OPD) at the Hong Kong Sanitorium and Hospital (HKSH) between February 12 and 16 and was admitted to HKSH for treatment on February 16 and 17. She sought medical advice at OPD at the HKSH on February 23 again and was referred and admitted to Ruttonjee Hospital for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. She had travelled to Osaka in Japan (January 26 to 30) during the incubation period and returned to Hong Kong on January 31. Her husband, second and third sons, and her maid who live with her are all asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The third case involves a 68-year-old woman (the 77th case) with good past health who lives in Majestic Apartments, 301-319 King's Road, North Point. She developed cough since February 19. She sought medical advice from a private doctor yesterday and called the CHP hotline subsequently. She was arranged to be taken to Queen Mary Hospital (QMH) by ambulance and was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Her husband and domestic helper who live with her are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the 76th and 77th cases announced today together with the patients of the 65th, 70th, 73rd and 74th cases announced earlier (6 patients in total) had all visited a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in January or February. Those who also had visited the temple during the above period and developed relevant symptoms later, are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The fourth to seventh cases (the 78th to 81st cases) involve four passengers of Diamond Princess cruise, namely a 59-year-old woman, a 58-year-old woman, a 57-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman. All with good past health, the four patients stayed on the cruise from January 25 to February 21, and returned to Hong Kong by a chartered flight arranged by the Hong Kong Government on February 22. Their samples were preliminary tested positive for COVID-19 virus, hence they were arranged for admission and treatment at the QMH yesterday. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for COVID-19 virus by further testing today. They are now in a stable condition. The patient of the 78th case developed fever and headache today. Her sister and niece, who travelled with her on the cruise, have no symptoms and are currently under quarantine. The patient of the 79th case developed throat discomfort since February 4. Her husband, who travelled with her on the cruise, has no symptoms and is currently under quarantine. One of the five travel collaterals of the patient of the 80th case presented with symptoms and was transferred to United Christian Hospital for treatment yesterday. His other travel collaterals are asymptomatic and are currently under quarantine. Three travel collaterals of the patient of the 81st have no symptoms and are currently under quarantine.

2020-2-23, 71st to 74th case:

CHP investigates four additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first confirmed case today involves a 68-year-old male passenger of Diamond Princess cruise (the 71st case), who has underlying illness. The patient stayed on the cruise from January 25 to February 20. He returned to Hong Kong by a chartered flight of the Hong Kong Government on February 20 and developed fever and cough on the same day. He was transferred from Chun Yeung Estate quarantine centre to Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday (February 22) and was admitted for treatment. 
  • The second case involves a 62-year-old man (the 72nd case) who lives in Choi Tin House, Hing Tin Estate in Lam Tin with good past health. He developed fever and cough on February 10 and consulted two private doctors during February 13 to 18. He sought medical attention at United Christian Hospital (UCH) on February 22 where he was admitted for treatment. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a serious condition. He had no travel history during the incubation period. His wife and son who live with him are all asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. Separately, the patient has earlier provided information on his attendance of a gathering at a restaurant Wedding Banquet Specialist at Silvercord Tower, Tsim Sha Tsui on February 10. Upon verification by the CHP, the patient rectified that the date should be January 10. As this event did not fall into the incubation period of the patient, no contact tracing is required.
  • The third case involves an 80-year-old woman (the 73rd case) with good past health who lives alone in Chin Hing House, Hing Wah (2) Estate, Chai Wan. She developed cough and sore throat since February 8. She sought medical attention at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) on February 22 and was admitted for treatment. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period.
  • The fourth case involves a 76-year-old woman (the 74th case) with underlying illness who lives in Maylun Apartments, 1-25 Shu Kuk Street, North Point. She developed muscle pain and fever since February 13. She consulted two private doctors since onset and sought medical attention at PYNEH on February 22 and was admitted for treatment.  She had no travel history during the incubation period. Her husband who lives with her is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine.
  • The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the patients of the 65th and 70th cases announced earlier and the 73th and 74th cases announced today had all visited a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments in January and February.

2020-2-22, 70th case:

  • The confirmed case today involves a 96-year-old woman (the 70th case) with underlying illness who lives in Fly Dragon Terrace, 26-32 Tin Hau Temple Road, Tin Hau. She developed fever and cough since February 13. She sought medical attention at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) today and was admitted for treatment.  She had no travel history during the incubation period. The CHP's epidemiological investigations revealed that the patients of the 65th case announced earlier and the 70th case today had both visited a Buddhist temple named Fook Wai Ching She in Maylun Apartments, 1-25 Shu Kuk Street, North Point in January and February.

2020-2-20, 66th to 69th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases and one probable case of COVID-19
  • The probable case involves a 75-year-old man (the 66th case) who is the husband of the 83-year-old female patient of the 63rd case confirmed yesterday. The patient with good past health lives in Block 1, Seaview Garden in Tuen Mun. He developed cough and shortness of breath on January 25. He sought treatment from two private doctors between January 31 and February 7. He was transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for isolation and treatment on February 18 following the CHP’s epidemiological investigations. His respiratory specimen was tested negative for COVID-19 virus at that moment. Nevertheless, following a CT-scan that showed relevant findings and information from preliminary epidemiological investigations, the case was classified as a probable case. The patient is in a stable condition. The patient made several day trips to Zhangmutou in Dongguan, Guangdong during the incubation period (January 12 to 25). Meanwhile, further investigations revealed that he visited 1/F of Hoi Tin Garden Restaurant located at 5 Sam Shing Street, Tuen Mun for breakfast from 9am to 11am daily from January 25 to February 18 except on February 15. Those who also had visited the restaurant during the above period and develop relevant symptoms later are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The first confirmed case today involves a 38-year-old woman (the 67th case) with good past health who lives in Hiu Fai House, Hiu Lai Court in Kwun Tong. She developed cough and fever on February 10 and consulted a private doctor on the same day. She consulted the same private doctor on February 14 and sought medical attention at United Christian Hospital (UCH) on February 19 where she was admitted for treatment. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and is now in a stable condition. She had no travel history during the incubation period. She lives with her husband and son. Her husband is asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine while her son presented with on and off cough since January 24 and will be sent to the UCH for further examination.
  • The second confirmed case involves a 58-year-old man (the 68th case) with good past health who lives in Shek Wu Wai, San Tin, Yuen Long. He developed fever and cough since February 8. He consulted a private doctor on February 10 and 17. He then sought medical attention at North District Hospital on February 18 and was admitted to the hospital for treatment yesterday due to syncope. His respiratory sample was tested positive for COVID-19 virus and he is now in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. His wife and son who live with him are asymptomatic and will be arranged for quarantine. The patient is a driver of urban taxi with vehicle registration number JW9897. His last date of work was February 16. Those who took the taxi between January 25 and February 16 are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The third case was detected via the "Enhanced Laboratory Surveillance Programme" which was expanded from February 19 to cover the patients attending the General Out-patient Clinics as well as Accident and Emergency Departments. The patient is a 48-year-old man (the 69th case). The patient, with underlying illness, lives in Yun Mei House, Yau Mei Court, Yau Tong. He developed fever and cough on February 18 and sought treamtment at Kwun Tong Community Health Centre on February 19. His deep throat saliva specimen was tested positive for COVID-19 virus. The patient was transferred to UCH for isolation and treatment today. He is now in a stable condition.

2020-2-19, 63rd to 65th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of COVID-19
  • The first case involves an 83-year-old woman (the 63rd case) who is the mother-in-law of the 54-year-old male patient of the 57th case confirmed on February 16 and the mother of the 46-year-old female patient of the 60th case confirmed on February 17. The patient has underlying illnesses who lives in Block 1, Seaview Garden in Tuen Mun. She developed runny nose since February 14. She suffered from fractures caused by fall on February 15 and was admitted to the Orthopaedic ward of Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) for treatment. She underwent surgery on February 16. Healthcare staff of TMH later acknowledged that the patient's daughter and son-in-law were confirmed cases of COVID-19. She was subsequently transferred to isolation ward of the hospital yesterday and received testing for COVID-19. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. Her husband who lived with her had cough since January 25 and had recovered. He is currently asymptomatic and has been admitted to TMH isolation ward for further examination. The patient visited the Hoi Tin Garden Restaurant on its first floor located on 5 Sam Shing Street, Tuen Mun from 9am to 11am on February 14 for a meal. Those who also visited the first floor of Hoi Tin Garden Restaurant during the above period and develop symptoms later are urged to call the CHP hotline.
  • The second and third cases involve a couple who are a 68-year-old man (the 64th case) and a 70-year-old woman (the 65th case) with underlying illnesses. They live in Sui Moon House, Siu Sai Wan Estate. They developed cough since February 12 and consulted a private doctor for persistent cough on February 18, and sought medical attention at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital and were admitted for treatment. They had no travel history during the incubation period. 

2020-2-18, 61st to 62nd case:

CHP investigates two additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first case involves a 32-year-old woman (the 61st case) who is the domestic helper of the 67-year-old female patient of the 52nd case confirmed on February 13. The patient has good past health who lives in Block D, Mount Parker Lodge in Quarry Bay. She developed fever and cough since February 2. Her symptoms subsided after self-medication and she did not consult a private doctor. She was transferred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where she was admitted for isolation and management by the CHP during its epidemiological investigation on February 14. Her respiratory samples were initially tested negative for novel coronavirus. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. She also did not attend the family dinner of her employer held in North Point on January 26. Her close contacts (except the case 52), namely her employers and their kids, have already been arranged for quarantine earlier on.
  • The second case involves a 58-year-old man (the 62nd case) with good past health who lives alone in Cambridge Building, 25-41 Hong Ning Road, Kwun Tong. He developed fever and chills since February 11, and cough since February 15. He consulted the same private doctor on February 11 and 13 respectively. He sought medical attention at United Christian Hospital yesterday and was admitted for treatment. The patient travelled to Zhongshan (from January 23 to February 2) and Macao (February 5) during the incubation period.

2020-2-17, 58th to 60th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first case involves a 69-year-old man (the 58th case) with underlying illnesses who lives in Yee Ching House, Yee Ming Estate, Tseung Kwan O. He developed cough on February 8 and consulted a private doctor three times between February 8 and 13. He sought medical attention at Cheung Sha Wan Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic for persistent cough on February 15. He consulted the same private doctor again yesterday (February 16) for shortness of breath and was referred to Caritas Medical Centre and admitted for medical treatment. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. 
  • The second case involves a 45-year-old man (the 59th case) who is the colleague of the 54-year-old male patient of the 57th case confirmed yesterday. The patient has good past health who lives in Oi Wah House, Tsz Oi Court, Tsz Wan Shan. He developed fever and sore throat since February 12 and consulted a private doctor on February 13. He sought medical attention at Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday and was admitted for treatment. The patient travelled to Da Nang, Vietnam during the incubation period (from January 30 to February 1). 
  • The third case involves a 46-year-old woman (the 60th case) who is the wife of the 57th case confirmed yesterday. The patient has good past health who lives in Ming Kung Mansion, Taikoo Shing. She developed runny nose since February 8 and cough since February 10. She consulted a private doctor on February 10 and was referred to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital for admission and treatment by the CHP yesterday. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. According to the patient, she attended a church activity at a church in Shau Kei Wan with her husband on February 9.

  • The new case involves a 54-year-old man (the 57th case) with good past health who lives in Ming Kung Mansion, Taikoo Shing. He developed fever since February 7 and cough since February 15. He consulted a private doctor on February 7 and 10 and sought medical attention at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) on February 10. He consulted the same private doctor on February 13 and 15 and attended PYNEH again on February 15 and was admitted for isolation and management. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. According to the patient, he attended a church activity at a church in Shau Kei Wan on February 9.

2020-2-14, 54th to 56th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first case involves a 41-year-old woman (the 54th case) who is the cousin of the 37-year-old male patient of the 53rd case confirmed yesterday (February 13). The patient has good past health and lives in Tai Long Wan Village, Shek O. She developed cough since February 3 and sought medical attention at Ruttonjee Hospital yesterday and was admitted for isolation and management. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. She had dinner with the patients of five confirmed cases (the 46th, 48th, 49th, 52nd and 53rd case) at Star Seafood Restaurant in North Point on January 26 evening. 
  • The second case involves a 70-year-old man (the 55th case) with underlying illnesses who lives alone in Shek Yi House, Shek Lei (II) Estate. He had a fall at home and was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital on February 12. He had developed malaise, shortness of breath and cough with sputum since February 2. At the hospital, he presented with fever and desaturation and was admitted for management.  The patient had a day trip to the Mainland through the Lok Ma Chau Control Point on January 22.
  • The third case involves a 61-year-old woman (the 56th case) with good past health who lives in 233 Wing Lok Street, Sheung Wan. She developed cough and epigastric pain since February 10, and fever and shortness of breath since February 12. The patient sought medical attention at Queen Mary Hospital yesterday and was admitted for isolation and management.The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. 

2020-2-13, 51st to 53rd case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • One case involves a 43-year-old man (the 51st case) who is a relative of the 66-year-old male patient of the 47th case confirmed on February 11. The patient has good past health and lives in Tsz Tin Tsuen, Tuen Mun. He developed cough since January 29, and diarrheoa and vomiting since Janaury 31. He consulted two private doctors during January 31 to February 8. The patient sought medical attention at Tuen Mun Hospital on February 12 and was admitted for management. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. He had attended a family banquet on January 30 where the patient of the 47th case was also present.
  • The other two cases involve a 67-year-old woman (the 52nd case) and her 37-year-old son (the 53rd case). They both had dinner with the patients of three confirmed cases (the 46th, 48th and 49th case) at Star Seafood Restaurant in North Point on January 26 evening.
    • The 67-year-old female patient, who is the younger sister-in-law of the 75-year-old male patient of the 46th case, has good past health. She lives at Mount Parker Lodge in Quarry Bay on weekdays and stays with her son at Heung Hoi Mansion on 28-32 O’Brien Road in Wan Chai on weekends. She developed cough on January 31 and then fever and chills since February 1. She consulted private doctors on January 31, February 3 and 7. She then sought treatment from Ruttonjee Hospital on February 12 where she was admitted for treatment. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period
    • The 37-year-old male patient, with good past health, lives at Heung Hoi Mansion. He developed fever on February 8 and consulted a private doctor on February 9. He sought treatment from Ruttonjee Hospital on February 12 and was admitted for treatment. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period.

2020-2-12, 50th case:

CHP investigates additional case of novel coronavirus infection
  • The new case involves a 51-year-old man who is the colleague of the 55-year-old female patient of the 37th case confirmed on February 10. The patient has good past health and lives in On Tao House, Cheung On Estate, Tsing Yi. He developed fever since February 3 and consulted a private doctor on February 4. The patient sought medical attention at Kwong Wah Hospital on February 10, admitted for isolation and management on the same day, and was transferred to Queen Elizabeth Hospital today.

2020-2-11, 43rd to 49th case:

CHP investigates seven additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first case involves a 59-year-old man with underlying illness who lives in Block 3, Island Resort, Siu Sai Wan. He developed fever, cough and shortness of breath since February 2. He consulted a private doctor on February 6 and sought medical attention at St Paul’s Hospital’s Outpatient Department on February 9. He sought treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) yesterday (February 10) and was admitted for isolation and management on the same day. His respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus. He is now in a stable condition. According to the patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period.
  • The second case involves a 60-year-old woman who is the colleague of the 68-year-old male patient of the 30th case confirmed on February 9. The patient has good past health and lives in Tung Ping House, Lei Tung Estate, Ap Lei Chau. She developed cough since February 1 and consulted a private doctor on February 2. She sought treatment at Ruttonjee Hospital on February 10 where she was admitted for isolation and management.  According to the 60-year-old female patient's information, she had no travel history during the incubation period. 
  • The third case involves a 71-year-old man with underlying illness who lives in Po Yan House, Po Lam Estate, Tseung Kwan O. He developed fever, cough and shortness of breath since February 5. The patient sought treatment at Tseung Kwan O Hospital on February 10 where he was admitted for isolation and management and was then transferred to United Christian Hospital on the same day. According to the patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period.
  • The fifth case involves a 66-year-old man with underlying illnesses who lives in Leung Tin Tsuen, Tuen Mun. He developed sore throat since January 31, chills and cough since February 4 and fever since February 7. He consulted two private doctors between February 1 and 10. The patient sought treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) on February 10 where he was admitted for isolation and management. His respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus. He is in stable condition. He had no travel history during the incubation period. His wife and mother who lived with him are asymptomatic and quarantine will be arranged.
  • The other three additional cases are related to the confirmed case (the 42th case, 62-year-old female patient) in Hong Mei House, Cheung Hong Estate announced yesterday. The patients involved the 37-year-old son and 37-year-old daughter-in-law of the 62-year-old female patient, as well as the father of her daughter-in-law who is aged 75.
    • The 37-year-old male patient developed fever and cough since January 30 and consulted a private doctor on the same day. He consulted another private doctor on February 3 and 5. The 37-year-old female patient developed fever, cough and sore throat since February 2 and consulted a private doctor on the next day. The couple have good past health and reside with the 62-year-old female patient. They were sent to Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) yesterday for isolation and management. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for novel coronavirus. They are in stable condition. They had no travel history during the incubation period. 
    • The 75-year-old patient lives in Tin Chak House, Tin Wan Estate, Aberdeen. He developed fever and cough since February 3 and consulted private doctors on February 3, 7 and 10 respectively. He sought medical attention at Queen Mary Hospital yesterday. His respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus and is in a stable condition. The patient had no travel history during the incubation period. His wife, his son and two daughters who lived with him are asymptomatic and quarantine will be arranged.

2020-2-10, 37th to 42th case:

CHP investigates six additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • Two of the additional cases are the close contacts of the male patient of the 27th case announced on February 9. The patients are a 55-year-old woman and a 52-year-old man who are respectively the aunt and uncle of the male patient of the 27th case. The two patients have good past health and did not have any travel history during the incubation period. On January 26, they both attended the same gathering as the patients of the nine confirmed cases from the same family cluster announced yesterday.  
    • The 55-year-old female patient lives in Tai Wo House, Wo Che Estate in Sha Tin. She developed fever, cough and runny nose on January 30 and consulted a private doctor on the same day. She was admitted to the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) on February 9. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus. She is now in a stable condition. Her husband is asymptomatic and is under quarantine while her son has developed symptoms and is admitted to the PWH for isolation and treatment.
    • The 52-year-old male patient belongs to the same family cluster. He is the husband of a 51-year-old female patient and is the father of a 25-year-old female and a 22-year-old male patients confirmed on February 9. He lives in Lai Chi building, 42-56 Leighton Road in Wan Chai. He developed cough, sore throat and dry mouth since February 8. He was admitted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) for management on February 9. 
  • The other three cases belong to another family cluster. The index case is a 69-year-old man with underlying illnesses who resides in Cheung Hing Building, 110 Sai Wan Ho Street. He developed cough since January 30 and consulted a private doctor on February 7. He attended the Accident and Emergency Department at PYNEH on February 9 due to shortness of breath and was admitted for isolation and management. His respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus. He is now in a critical condition.
    • Based on the epidemiological investigations of this case, the CHP has traced and confirmed two more cases of novel coronavirus infection yesterday, namely the 63-year-old wife and 86-year-old mother-in-law of the 69-year-old man. All of them live together. His wife has underlying illnesses while his mother-in-law enjoys good past health. They presented with cough since January 30 and January 28 respectively. They were transferred to PYNEH for isolation and management yesterday by the CHP. Their respiratory samples were tested positive for novel coronavirus. They are now in a stable condition.
    • According to the 69-year-old male patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period. He mainly stayed at home. The 63-year-old female patient had been to Sai Wan Ho General Out-patient Clinic on January 31. His sister-in-law had been to their home for lunch on January 31, but have been asymptomatic so far and quarantine will be arranged.
  • The sixth additional case involves a 62-year-old woman residing in the same building as for the patient of the 12th case, i.e. Hong Mei House, Cheung Hong Estate in Tsing Yi. She developed cough since February 3 and consulted a private doctor on February 3, 5 and 7. She sought treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) on February 9 where she was admitted for isolation and management. Her respiratory sample was tested positive for novel coronavirus. She is in stable condition. According to the patient's information, she visited Macao from January 18 to 19. Her son and daughter-in-law who lived with her have presented with symptoms and will be sent to PMH, and quarantine will be arranged for her husband and grandson who lived with her and are asymptomatic.

2020-2-9, 27th to 36th case:

CHP investigates 10 additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first case involves a 24-year-old man with good past health who lives in Hung Fook Mansion, 356-362 Lockhart Road, Wan Chai. He developed fever and cough since January 30 and sought medical attention from a private doctor on the same day. He consulted another private doctor on February 4 and sought treatment at St Paul’s Hospital’s Outpatient Department on February 6. He then sought medical attention at the Accident and Emergency Department at Ruttonjee Hospital and was admitted for isolation and management on February 8.  Based on the epidemiological investigations of this case, the CHP has traced and confirmed eight more cases of novel coronavirus infection today (which are cases 3 to 10 today), involving three family clusters. They are all family members and relatives of the first case. According to the 24-year-old patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period. On January 26, he had hot pot with 18 relatives, including the above 8 confirmed cases, at Lento Party Room in Kwun Tong.
  • The first family cluster included the male patient’s father (68-year-old), mother (57-year-old) and maternal grandmother (91-year-old). The second family cluster included the third younger sister (51-year-old) of the male patient’s mother and the male patient’s cousins (25-year-old female and 22-year-old male). The third family cluster included the fourth younger sister (50-year-old) of the male patient’s mother and the male patient’s cousin (23-year-old male). Their respiratory samples were all tested positive for novel coronavirus, and they were admitted for isolation and management at Ruttonjee Hospital and Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital respectively.
  • The second case involves a 70-year-old man with underlying illnesses who resides in Choi Fung Court in Ngau Chi Wan. He developed cough, chills and shortness of breath since January 30 and diarrhoea since February 1. He had consulted two private doctors during the period from February 1 to February 7 and attended the United Christian Hospital on February 8 for persistent chills and shortness of breath where he was admitted for isolation and management.  According to the patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period and mainly stayed at his home and his son’s home at the same building. His close contacts, namely his wife, son, daughter-in-law, grandson, granddaughter and domestic helper are asymptomatic and quarantine will be arranged.

2020-2-7, 25th and 26th case:

CHP investigates two additional imported cases of novel coronavirus infection

  • The first additional case involves a 58-year-old man with good past health who lives in Zhuhai. He developed fever and cough since February 4 and returned to Hong Kong on February 5. He consulted a private doctor on February 6 and sought treatment at North District Hospital (NDH) where he was admitted for isolation and management on the same day.  The CHP has immediately commenced epidemiological investigations and conducted relevant contact tracing. According to the patient's information, he travelled from Zhuhai to Macao back and forth for work during the incubation period. He returned to Hong Kong via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge boundary control point on February 5 and resided in Serenity Garden in Sheung Shui with his friend.
  • The other case involves a 42-year-old man with good past health who lives in The Palazzo, Fo Tan. He developed fever and cough since February 3 and sought treatment at Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) where he was admitted for isolation and management on the same day. According to the patient's information, he went to Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport from Hong Kong on January 22 before onset of symptoms for a flight to Hebei Province, and returned by air from Hebei Province to Guangzhou on January 26 and then visited Macao on the same day. He returned to Hong Kong from Macao by ferry on February 2.

2020-2-6, 22nd, 23rd and 24th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first additional case involves a 55-year-old woman with good past health who is the wife of the patient of the 21st confirmed case. She developed sore throat since February 1 and then fever and diarrhoea since February 2. She consulted a private doctor on February 2 and sought treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) on February 4. She attended PMH again on the following day and was admitted for isolation and management.  According to the patient's information, she works in Dongguan and returns to Hong Kong and resides in Block 1, Villa Esplanada in Tsing Yi during weekends. She came back to Hong Kong from Dongguan on January 17, and visited Tokyo in Japan with her husband from January 28 to February 1, arriving Hong Kong on February 2. Quarantine will be arranged for her other home contacts, namely her parents-in-law and domestic helper, who are asymptomatic. The patient took a flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo on January 28 and returned from Tokyo to Hong Kong on UO651 by Hong Kong Express Airways on February 1.
  • The second additional case involves a 63-year-old woman with good past health, who developed cough and malaise since January 26. The patient later consulted a Chinese medicine practitioner. She consulted a private doctor on February 5 and sought treatment at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where she was admitted for management on the same day. Preliminary investigations revealed that the patient resides in Ko Mong Building, 142-146 Shau Kei Wan Road. She visited her husband who lives in Lai To Home For The Aged in Sai Wan Ho during the incubation period and after onset of symptoms.
  • The third additional case involves a 65-year-old woman with underlying illnesses. She developed fever and cough since January 28. She consulted a private doctor on January 29 and February 1, and sought treatment from the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH) on February 5 where she was admitted for management. She is in serious condition. Preliminary investigations revealed that she lives alone in Sui Shek House in Shek Mun Estate, Sha Tin and had no travel history during the incubation period.

2020-2-5 19th, 20th and 21st case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection (2)
  • The first two additional cases involves a 56-year-old woman and her 28-year-old daughter who are respectively the wife and daughter of the patient of the 17th confirmed case. The patients, with good past health, live in Yue Hong House, Hong Tin Court in Lam Tin. The 28-year-old female patient developed cough and sore throat on January 30, and then fever on January 31. She was sent to the United Christian Hospital (UCH) and admitted for treatment yesterday. Preliminary investigations revealed that the 28-year-old female patient had consulted two private doctors between onset and admission to hospital. According to the patients' information, the daughter had no travel history during the incubation period and mainly travelled between her home and her workplace in Tsim Sha Tsui. Her mother also did not have any travel history during the incubation period and mainly travelled between her home and her workplace in Tuen Mun.
  • The third case involves a 56-year-old man with good past health who resides in Block 1, Villa Esplanada in Tsing Yi. He developed fever, cough with sputum and sore throat since January 30. He consulted a private doctor on February 2 and then attended the PMH on February 4 where he was admitted for treatment. According to the patient's information, he worked in Shenzhen and last visited Shenzhen on January 21. He visited Tokyo in Japan from January 28 to February 1. His wife is symptomatic and was sent to PMH for treatment. Quarantine will be arranged for his other home contacts, namely his parents and domestic helper, who are asymptomatic. The patient took a flight from Hong Kong to Tokyo on January 28 and returned from Tokyo to Hong Kong on UO651 by Hong Kong Express Airways on February 1.

2020-2-4, 16th, 17th and 18th case:

CHP investigates three additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The first additional case involves a 64-year-old woman with good past health. She lives in Celestial Heights, Sheung Shing Street, Kowloon. She presented with cough since January 23 and consulted a private doctor. She then developed fever on January 30 and consulted another private doctor. She had shortness of breath on February 1 and sought treatment at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) where she was admitted for management. The patient was transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital for further management on February 3. According to the information from patient's son, she had no travel history during the incubation period and mainly travelled between her home and her shop in Prudential Centre in Jordan. Her household contacts, namely her son, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and a domestic helper, are asymptomatic and will be sent to a quarantine centre for quarantine.Those who had visited the patient's shop named "Fresh Up" in Prudential Centre from January 23 to February 1.
  • The second case involves a 60-year-old man with underlying illness who resides in Yue Hong House, Hong Tin Court in Lam Tin. He developed fever and myalgia on January 22, and presented with shortness of breath since January 30. He first attended United Christian Hospital (UCH) on January 30 and then sought medical treatment at Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) where he was admitted for treatment on the same day. Between onset and admission to TKOH, the patient had also consulted four different private practitioners. According to the patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period and mainly stayed home.
  • The third case involves a 25-year-old man with good past health who lives at 183 Ma Tau Wai Road, To Kwa Wan. He developed fever on January 28. He presented with cough, runny nose and diarrhoea on January 29 and attended Hong Kong Baptist Hospital on the same day. He sought treatment at Hong Kong Baptist Hospital on February 3 and was referred to the Prince of Wales Hospital where he was admitted for treatment. According to the patient's information, he had no travel history during the incubation period.

2020-2-2, 15th case:

CHP investigates additional case of novel coronavirus infection
  • a 72-year-old woman with underlying illness who is the mother of the patient of the 13th case. She lives in Block 1, Site 11, Whampoa Garden. She was transferred to Lei Yue Mun Park and Holiday Village for quarantine since February 1. She developed fever and cough on the same day and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was admitted for isolation and management.

2020-2-1, 14th case:

CHP investigates additional case of novel coronavirus infection
  • a 80-year-old man who lives in Luk Kwai House, Kwai Chung Estate, New Territories with good past health. He presented with cough since January 19 and started having fever since January 30. He sought medical attention at the Accident and Emergency Department at Caritas Medical Centre on January 30 and was admitted for isolation and management. He had been transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital for further management.

2020-1-31, 13th case:

CHP investigates additional imported case of novel coronavirus infection
  • a 39-year-old man who lives in Block 1, Site 11, Whampoa Garden with underlying illness. He developed myalgia since January 29 and started having fever today. He sought treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital today where he was admitted for isolation and management. According to the patient's information, he took High-Speed Rail from Hong Kong to Wuhan (G306) on January 21 and from Changshanan to Hong Kong (G79) on January 23.

2020-1-30, 11th and 12th cases:

CHP investigates two additional cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • a 37-year-old woman residing in the Coronation in Yau Ma Tei who is the daughter of the patients of the 9th and 10th case. She developed cough on January 28 and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital yesterday (January 30) where she was admitted for isolation and management.
  • a 75-year-old man residing in Hong Mei House, Cheung Hong Estate in Tsing Yi. He developed cough and shortness of breath on January 22. He sought treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital on January 24 and was admitted for management. According to the patient's information, he visited Shunde in Guangdong Province from December 30 last year to January 7 this year and sought treatment at a clinic there. He took day trips to Macao from January 10 to 14.

2020-1-29 9th and 10th cases:

CHP investigates two additional imported cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • The two cases involve a couple from Wuhan in Hubei Province, who are a 72-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman. They took the flight KA853 by Cathay Dragon from Wuhan to Hong Kong on January 22. They stayed at W Hong Kong on the same day until yesterday (January 28). Afterwards, they visited The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong and Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong and were subsequently sent by ambulance from Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong to Queen Mary Hospital yesterday where they were admitted for isolation and treatment.

2020-1-26, 6th, 7th and 8th cases:

CHP investigates three additional imported cases of novel coronavirus infection
  • a 47-year-old male with good past health who works in Wuhan, Hubei Province. According to the information he provided, he developed fever on January 20 and sought treatment at a hospital in Wuhan on the following day, with his fever subsided on the same day. On January 23, he travelled to Xianning by car and from Xianning he took High-Speed Rail to Shenzhenbei (G1035 carriage No. 2, row no. 11), then from Shenzhenbei to Hong Kong (G407 carriage No. 3, row no. 17), then proceeded to his flat in Universal Towers on Kin Wah Street in North Point. On January 23 evening, he sought treatment from Ruttonjee Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department (A&ED) for dog bite in the Mainland earlier. He had no fever at that moment. He attended Ruttonjee Hospital for medical treatment again on January 25 and was admitted for management.
  • a 68-year-old woman with good past health who lives in Shenzhen. According to the information she provided, she travelled from Shenzhen to Lo Wu Control Point on January 25. She developed fever and cough since January 21 and was intercepted by staff of DH's Port Health Division at Lo Wu Control Point on January 25. She was immediately taken to the North District Hospital for isolation and treatment. 
  • a 64-year-old male patient, with underlying illness, residing in Wuhan. He is the husband of the patient (62-year-old female) of the third imported case of novel coronavirus infection in Hong Kong. Since he is a close contact of the 62-year-old female patient, he was already sent to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village for quarantine on January 24. He developed fever on January 25 night and was transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital (TMH) for isolation and treatment.

2020-1-24 3rd, 4th and 5th cases:

CHP investigates three additional imported cases of novel coronavirus infection

  • 62-year-old female who lives in Wuhan, Hubei Province with good past health. According to the information she provided, she travelled from Wuhan to Shenzhenbei (G1013) and then from Shenzhenbei to Hong Kong (G6543) by High-Speed Rail on January 19. She developed fever and cough on January 20. She sought medical treatment at Tuen Mun Hospital’s Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department on January 23 and was admitted for isolation yesterday (January 24). 
  • The other two cases involve a couple from Wuhan, who are a 62-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man with good past health. According to the information they provided, they took High-Speed Rail from Wuhan at 2.20pm on January 22 and arrived at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link at around 8pm that evening. The woman developed fever on January 23 while her husband developed cough on the same day and then fever on January 24. The couple attended the Prince of Wales Hospital’s A&E Department on January 23 and were admitted for isolation.

  • 39-year-old male patient who lived in Wuhan. He had good past health. He had fever and blocked nose since January 21, 2020. He traveled from Wuhan to Shenzhenbei and then from Shenzhenbei to Hong Kong by High Speed Rail on January 21, 2020. He was noted to have fever at Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong West Kowloon Rail Station by staff of Port Health Division of Department of Health, and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for isolation and treatment immediately.
