There are 32 teams bumping into World Cup group stage, I am interested in studying different parts of football, including team shirt branding.
Eight team shirt brands are Adidas, Nike, Puma, New Balance, Umbro, Hummel, Errea and Ulsport. The first three brands, Adidas, Nike and Puma take 26 teams (81.25%). Among 32 teams at the beginning, Adidas takes 12-10 lead over Nike in shirt deals.
After the group stage, 16 teams are eliminated and 16 teams progress, that are three kingdoms remaining, Adidas (8), Nike (5) and Puma/ others (3).
When going to quarter-finals, further 8 teams are eliminated. Nike surpasses Adidas by 4:3. While the third, Puma remains one.
At semi-finals, Nike leads Adidas further to 3:1.
