For the Education and Training Functions of the HA
Background: Many doctors and nurses tell me that they feel that training has not taken into account in manpower calculation in ward or department level.
Question: There are protected time/ designated time for trainees every week in some specialties, say one session for training/ administration work/ study. While some other specialties do not have. Do you have details in protected training time and manpower consideration in different specialties in different hospitals? Doctors/ nurses.
Ensuring Professional and Service Quality
I totally agree that HA have done a lot. But there are three problems.
(1) Public does not agree.
(2) Staff may not agree.
(3) Some thing HA does not want to touch.
For a patient, the meaning of service quality is …
(a) He waits… Waiting time (yes waiting time, resource allocation)
(b) He sees the doctors for 3 minutes… Consultation time (touching the manpower)
(c) Or he wants to ask nurse for help in the ward. But the nurse is too busy. (Manpower)
